iUnplugged.  Well... sort of.  Let me explain.  This fall has been a hugely successful season for the biz, and while its awesome for the finances part of our family, its not so fantastic on the 'quality time' aspect.  So, to counteract this lack of family time, we decided to squeeze in a small weekend getaway with just us.  A lot of times, I catch my self filling the 'void' times (aka, not TOTALLY full of excitement) by checking my phone... perusing Facebook, looking to see who liked something on Instagram, pinning recipes I'll probably never try on Pinterest, looking to see if someone emailed me (usually not... I like to pretend I'm more popular than I really am, haha)... instead of "being" where I am, and I'll bet most of you do the same.

Now, I'm not going to get all crazy critical on gadgets, but I will say, that being conscious of what I was doing this weekend --aka: asking my 2 year old about her favorite part of the day instead of looking on Facebook at other people's favorite parts of their days--made me really feel like I was there more, and really connect with my family.  If you're my FB friend or if you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that yes, I did "like" things and post a few things, but it wasn't obsessive, and I wasn't obnoxious and exclude my family while I silently focused on my gadget... and it felt so refreshing.
