So, usually, I tell a little blurb about what I've been thinking about on Monday, but this weekend (and a few from now till the end of the month) had a wedding, so I decided to go ahead and share those images on Monday.  Today, though, I'll share some thoughts.  My thoughts are surrounding October:

Dear October,

I am so thankful for you, and have been anxiously awaiting your arrival since January when I booked your weekend weddings and this summer when your weekdays began to fill up, too.  Thank you for giving me nice cool breezes thus far, and for the buttery-yummy sunlight in the evenings.  I appreciate your sunsets and your slightly changing leaves.  I am pumped about the light that you'll wrap my beautiful clients in, and for the clothing that you'll inspire them to wear because of your changing season.  Please continue to be a fun and happily-challenging month!

Since January, October has been both the bright spot and the scary spot on my calendar.  Its going to be the most jam-packed month to date for the biz, and while I'm absolutely super pumped, I'm also a little leary of the challenge of keeping up with my editing and production for my clients.

As a client, its just so hard to wait.  I get it... I've been there, eager to praise the work of the photographer, anxious to make sure my vision was captured within their eyes.  So its just so important to me that I don't let that part of my business slip while I am in the hustle and bustle of shooting.  Because I love both editing and shooting.  When I shoot, I get so excited (as many of my clients can attest!), and I say things like, "OHMYWORD!", "I LOVE that!", "Magical!!", and such as this... and I always say it when I mean it.  I get a thrill out of catching the light, capturing the moment, and sneaking a shot of "the look" between couples or between a mom and her kids.  But then there's editing... editing is when I find the hidden gems that I didn't even know I got!  Its when I can enhance the beauty from the camera's shot and create images that will be loved and treasured.  So see, I love both, and I want to excel at both, perfect both, and deliver both-- in a shorter-rather-than-longer amount of time.  Wherein lies the looming and thrilling October...
